Cookie Policy of expeditions.sniegula.com
Effective date: 27 October 2026 | Version: 2.1
§ 1. What cookies are and when consent is required
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Other technologies that store information on your device or read it from your device, such as analytics scripts, work in a similar way. In this policy we refer to all such technologies simply as “cookies”.
Their use is governed by Article 399 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law of 12 July 2024 (Prawo komunikacji elektronicznej):
- strictly necessary cookies, required for the website you are using to work, do not require consent;
- all other cookies, including analytics cookies, require your prior consent.
Where information stored in cookies can be linked to a specific person, the GDPR also applies. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
§ 2. Your consent and how to manage it
- On your first visit we show a banner where you can accept analytics cookies, reject them with the “Reject” button, or choose your settings. The buttons are equally prominent, and refusing is as easy as accepting.
- Until you make a choice, and after you refuse, the website does not store analytics cookies and does not connect to Google Analytics servers.
- Refusing does not restrict access to any content of the website.
- You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings link, which is also available in the website footer. Once you withdraw consent, the website stops running Google Analytics and deletes its cookies from your browser. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal (Article 7(3) GDPR).
- We remember your choice for 12 months. After that, we will ask you again.
- We also record your choice in a register on the server: a random identifier, the date, the banner version and your decision. The register does not contain your IP address. We keep it for 13 months to be able to demonstrate that consent was given (Article 7(1) GDPR). As with every connection to the website, the server records the IP address in its access logs (§ 3.8 of the Privacy Policy); we do not link those logs to the register. Details: § 3.9 of the Privacy Policy.
- If we change the purpose or scope of cookies that require consent (for example by adding a tool, a new data recipient or a transfer of data to another country), we will ask for your consent again. Purely editorial changes do not require a new decision.
§ 3. Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)

|---|---|---|---|
| sn_consent | expeditions.sniegula.com | remembering your cookie choice and the random identifier of that choice | 12 months |
| sniegula_lang | sniegula.com (includes subdomains) | remembering the language version of the website (PL/EN) that you choose with the language switch; set only when you click PL or EN | until the end of the browser session (deleted when you close the browser) |
| sniegula_locale (former) | sniegula.com (includes subdomains) | former cookie that remembered the language version; the website no longer sets it, and if your browser still stores it, we delete it when you visit | deleted on your next visit (previously valid for 12 months) |
| wp_woocommerce_session_*, woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart | expeditions.sniegula.com | operating the online shop basket; set only when you visit the shop pages, and the shop is currently inactive | up to 2 days |

§ 4. Analytics cookies – Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent)
If you give your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited. It tells us how many people visit the website, which pages they read, where they come from (for example a search engine or social media) and whether they click the contact links. We do not use this data for advertising or profiling.
| Name | Domain | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | sniegula.com (includes subdomains) | distinguishing visitors by means of a random identifier | 2 years |
| _ga_PBLCTD7FBN | sniegula.com (includes subdomains) | keeping the session state in this website’s statistics | 2 years |
Some browsers shorten this period if you do not return to the website (Chrome to 400 days, Safari to 7 days).
These cookies are stored on the sniegula.com domain, so they are technically available to other websites on that domain as well. Each of our websites runs Google Analytics only after consent has been given on that particular website.
As an additional safeguard we use Google Consent Mode: until you give your consent, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all, and the default state is “consent denied”.
The categories of data, the retention period in Google Analytics (14 months) and transfers of data to the USA are described in § 3.7 and § 5 of the Privacy Policy. Google’s information on how it uses data from websites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
§ 5. What we do not use
The website does not use marketing or advertising cookies (such as Meta Pixel), session recording tools or any analytics tools other than Google Analytics 4.
The website contains ordinary links to external services (such as TikTok and WhatsApp). Those services may set their own cookies only once you go to their websites, and they do so under their own rules.
§ 6. Browser settings
You can also delete and block cookies in your browser settings:
| Browser | Instructions |
|---|---|
| Google Chrome | support.google.com |
| Mozilla Firefox | support.mozilla.org |
| Apple Safari | support.apple.com |
| Microsoft Edge | support.microsoft.com |
Please note: blocking strictly necessary cookies may make the website harder to use, for example when switching the language version.
§ 7. Controller, contact and changes
The controller of data collected by means of cookies is Sławomir Śnieguła, ul. Czarnieckiego 5, 88-400 Żnin, Poland, email: kontakt@sniegula.com. The rules for processing personal data are set out in the Privacy Policy.
We update this policy whenever the cookies we use change.
